omg!! I’m so nervous!!! aka — the intro
Maybe, really, not so much.
As this is my first blog (not ever, but with this site), I don’t know how to start out on the right foot, so I’ll just defiantly start out on the wrong one.
I hope to have this blog be an outlet for writings that I can’t otherwise use. For various reasons, I don’t feel some of my other online incarnations are an appropriate venue for the types of opinions I truly want to write. Most times, I have a facade I must keep. Usually, I surf the internet at work, which is a politically sensitive environment. While I view whatever I want in my off hours, it would be inappropriate to post what I want while there (no, it’s not a political office).
Otherwise, I’m a singer for a local metal band (currently in need of a guitar player). While on the band’s website, I don’t feel like I should share my true doubts and feelings about things, since the posts could be misconstrued to represent the entire band. Besides, I tend to be tempermental, and my feelings change from one day to the next.
I’m also working on a novel. I should be writing right now, but oh well. Sometimes I get tired of having only my wife for feedback. My superstitions include never sharing unfinished work (but hey, she’s my wife so she doesn’t count). I would work on short stories, but my novel would get jealous. And when my novel gets jealous, she gets reaaaal grumpy.
So, if anything, I’d like to have this blog be an expression of doubt, ambiguity, and discussion. I hope to discuss politics, economics, weather, art, religion, and any other bs that comes to mind. I haven’t completely explored the site and don’t know exactly how it works, but I’m more persuaded to allow comments as long as they are constructive. Damn, I hate contrary for contrary’s sake.
So, enjoy!
